The complete path
Six steps. One private ticket.
The public website explains the process but never receives your evidence. Start only inside the official Discord server and keep the entire review in the ticket created from #submit-ticket.

Enter through the official Discord
Use the Mello Zone invite linked from this website. Do not begin verification from a copied invite, an unsolicited direct message, or a link sent by an account you cannot confirm.

Open a private verification ticket
In the server, go to #submit-ticket and choose the ID verification option. Keep every document and photo inside that private ticket. Never post verification evidence in a public channel.

Prepare your document and note
Use an accepted identity document and a handwritten note showing your current Discord username, “Mello Zone,” and the current date and approximate time. Your date of birth belongs on the document; do not copy it onto the note.

Take the document photo
Place the document and handwritten note in the same photograph. Keep the date of birth, document type, and required identity details readable while covering unrelated sensitive fields.

Complete the person match
For a photo ID, take a clear selfie showing your full face, the same physical ID, and the same note in one frame. Do not use face filters, beauty effects, screenshots, or digitally assembled images.

Submit once and wait for review
Send the requested evidence once, then leave the ticket open. Staff may approve the check, request a safer or clearer retry, or explain why the available evidence cannot establish 18+ access.

Birth certificate
A birth certificate can establish a recorded date of birth, but it has no current photograph. It cannot complete the person match by itself and requires the supplemental review specified by staff in the private ticket.
Ask first
Another official document
If you do not have one of the documents above, ask in the private ticket before uploading anything. Staff must confirm whether the document establishes age and how the presenter will be matched to it.
Evidence that does not complete the check
Account-age screenshots, school or library cards without an accepted date-of-birth and identity match, edited date text, another person’s document, and a VRChat badge or profile status by itself do not complete this document-review path. Never borrow evidence or alter a document to make it appear eligible.
Redact before capture
Show the decision data—not the whole document.
Physically cover unrelated fields before taking the picture when possible. Do not digitally replace or rewrite the date of birth, portrait, issuing authority, or other details needed to assess the evidence.
Keep visible
- Date of birth showing that you are at least 18
- Portrait on a photo ID
- Document type and issuing authority
- Enough identity detail for the same-person review
- Discord username, Mello Zone, current date, and approximate time on the note
Cover when not needed
- Street address
- Driver's license or document number
- Barcode, QR code, and machine-readable zone when not required
- Signature and unrelated account identifiers
- Any information staff did not request for the age decision
Capture checklist
Two clear photographs for a photo-ID review.
Photo one
Document and note
Place the physical document beside the handwritten note. Both must be in the same frame, in focus, and readable without zooming through glare. The note must match the Discord account in the ticket.
Photo two
Full face, photo ID, and note
Show your unobstructed face with the same physical photo ID and note in one live photograph. Staff must be able to compare the ID portrait with the person holding it. A birth certificate follows the separate supplemental instructions provided in the ticket because it has no portrait.
After submission
A check can have three outcomes.
Approved
The evidence establishes the 18+ access requirement and the ticket records the outcome.
Retry needed
A required detail is obscured, the images do not match, or glare, cropping, filters, or edits prevent a reliable review.
Cannot verify
The evidence does not establish age or identity well enough for access. You may use the published appeal path when a decision needs another review.
Stop if the request looks wrong
Never verify in public, by unsolicited DM, or through this website.
Mello Zone’s public pages do not accept identity-document uploads. Staff should never ask for a password, recovery code, payment, full account credentials, or unrelated records. If the ticket or reviewer does not match the official path, stop and use the Help Center before sharing evidence.
